Love dried flowers? Love our flowers? You’ll love our DIY Dry Bunches!

Every month - for the last week of the month - we’re designing bunches of seasonal Cumbrian flowers for you to dry at home.

In June we’re cutting larkspur, acroclinium, cornflower, achillea, button feverfew, limonium suworowii, grasses and seedheads… Just like in our Gift Bouquets, the mix of flowers will change as we move from early summer through to autumn.

A bunch will include 25 stems of freshly cut flowers - great value for money.

Why DIY dry your flowers?

We don’t have capacity to dry a lot of flowers - but it’s not difficult! We’re passionate about encouraging you to enjoy local, sustainable flowers… and we know a lot of you would LOVE our flowers dried!

Is it difficult to dry flowers?

No… it’s easy!

Your DIY Dry flowers need to be hung up in a dry, cool room. Ideally they retain their colour if hung in the dark too, like an airing cupboard, but we have success in our utility room and downstairs bathroom! Hang up for 2-3 weeks, until they’re crisp to touch.

Can I enjoy them fresh too?

Of course; your bunch can be enjoyed in a vase (a few cm of water will keep them fresh) first. Follow our ‘care instructions’ if you do this - don’t put in the window, keep away from heat and fruit, so they don’t droop or drop petals, and keep refreshing the small amount of water (otherwise you’ll get mould!). After the weekend you can take out of water, wash and towel dry the stems, and hang up to dry… if you just want to enjoy them fresh, order one of our seasonal flower bouquets instead!
