Hello Spring sunshine

Great to see the geums again! And the sunshine, albeit intermittent. Today’s highlight was half an hour in my new hammock watching the woodpeckers that are nesting in the old ash tree at the bottom of the flower field. The boys lit a fire and made s’mores. It made a lovely break from planting out, which is preoccupying me at the moment. Nearly there, which is just as well as we’re half way through May... eek!

Yesterday I struggled (to put it undramatically) with a very bad migraine, so today I’ve put my chair out to remind me to take it easy, not push myself and stop and enjoy the view. Indeed I’m sat in it to write this. I can see the clouds over the Lake District mountains, hear the sheep bleat to their increasingly adventurous lambs, and lots of birdsong in the hedgerows. Any minute now I’m going to leap into action...
