British Flowers Week

This is Beth’s bridal bouquet from the weekend, made from Cumbrian flowers grown here on our flower farm between Cockermouth and Workington. Our roses were combined with feverfew, sweet peas, poppy, mint, nigella, corncockle, cornflower, nigella… the first cosmos… amongst delicious foliages. Scentsational!

Beth and Oliver opted for our DIY Wedding Flowers with their bouquets and buttonholes made by us. We’ve a busy week of weddings this week so we’ll be able to share lots of seasonal, sustainable British flowers.

We’ve collaborated with other Sustainable Wedding Alliance flower business members to takeover the SWA instagram this week too… for each of us British flowers mean something different as sustainable wedding businesses…. We’re all over the country, all have different businesses, but are all united by our drive to work sustainably in an industry fraught with challenges.

Every week is British Flowers Week here at Cumberland Flower Farm, as we only use British flowers all year round, for environmental, ethical reasons. More on that as we go…
